If you’re committed to excellence and excited by the prospect of doing well by doing good, we look forward to hearing from you.General Summary: As an Origination Analyst on our Environmental Products team, your core focus will be to contribute to our growing portfolio of forestry-based carbon projects. You will enjoy significant responsibility for the management of your own projects within a supportive and collaborative team environment.Primary Responsibilities and Competencies:Prepare written carbon project feasibility analysis documents for landownersPerform statistical analyses of forest inventories and other data setsAnalyze remote sensing databases to produce accurate estimates of carbon sequestration and emissions reductionsConduct silvicultural research across project regionsManage geospatial data and produce maps using ArcGIS or other geospatial softwareAnalyze financial costs and benefits of carbon project developmentReview easements/harvest prohibitions and conduct project eligibility due diligenceArticulate carbon analysis processes for landownersTravel is less than 10%Required Education, Qualifications Experience:Bachelor’s degree in forestry or another applicable discipline1 or more years of professional experience in forestry or forest carbon-related fieldExperience implementing afforestation/reforestation activitiesExperience working with a variety of forms of timber dataKnowledge of a variety of North American forest typesExperience in ArcGIS mapping and analysisHighly proficient in Microsoft Excel, knowledge of database management a plusExperience cleaning and troubleshooting dataExperience in statistical analysisKnowledge of forest carbon policy, carbon protocols (compliance and voluntary), and carbon accounting standardsExperience and comfort managing client and third-party relationships.Preferred Education, Qualifications Experience:Master’s degree in forestry or another applicable discipline2 or more years of professional experience in forestry or forest carbon-related fieldKnowledge of database management (MS Access preferred)Knowledge of R Statistical SoftwareEqual EmploymentAnew is committed to providing equal employment opportunities.
