Job Description

Instructions

In your cover letter, tell us:

• Why Kagi’s mission and this role resonate with you

• How your experience maps to what we describe (with concrete examples)

• Which challenges you’re most excited to tackle

About Kagi

Kagi is your companion for a better web. We're building a friendly internet where you can explore, learn, and interact with confidence - free from ads, tracking, and distractions. Kagi builds advanced, user-centric technology to empower you, not replace you.

Our products include Kagi Search, Orion browser, Kagi Assistant, Kagi News, Kagi Summarizer, and Kagi Translate. Every product reflects our commitment to a surveillance-free internet, designed around the user.

About the Role

  • Kagi grows differently than most consumer products. We don't buy ads, we don't track users across the web to retarget them, and we don't have a growth team chasing vanity metrics. We grow because people try Kagi, feel the difference, and tell other people. Our job in marketing is to make that loop faster and wider: get the right people to try it, help them understand why it's worth paying for, and keep them around.
  • This is a generalist growth role for someone who's comfortable working across content, user lifecycle, (analytics), and social media. You'll have real autonomy and real ownership, and expected to make bets with product-adjacent growth experiments - picking whatever lever matters most this week and pulling it yourself.
  • Day-to-day, as a part of the marketing team you will:

• Own the user acquisition and conversion funnel end to end: from how people first hear about Kagi to converting a trial into a paid subscriber

• Write and ship content - blog posts, landing pages, comparison pages, email campaigns - that explains why Kagi is worth paying for in a market full of free alternatives

• Build and improve lifecycle marketing: onboarding sequences, activation nudges, win-back campaigns, and renewal/retention messaging

• Dig into analytics yourself: track funnel performance, find drop-off points, and turn data into a prioritized list of experiments

• Run growth experiments end to end - hypothesis, build, measure, iterate - without needing a dedicated analytics or engineering team to do it for you

• Partner with product and design to influence onboarding flows, pricing pages, and in-product moments that affect conversion and retention

• Represent the user's voice in growth decisions, consistent with Kagi's position as a privacy-respecting, user-funded product - we grow by earning trust, not by exploiting attention

Must-Haves

• 4+ years in a growth, performance, or full-funnel marketing role at a subscription or SaaS product, with real ownership of outcomes

• Demonstrated ability to operate across content, analytics, and lifecycle/email marketing without a large team behind you

• Strong writing - you can produce clear, persuasive copy yourself, not just brief someone else to do it

• Experience running and analyzing growth experiments (A/B tests, lifecycle campaigns, landing page iterations) and knowing when to kill an experiment versus scale it

• High comfort with ambiguity: you can take "conversion is too low" and turn it into a concrete plan without a lot of hand-holding

• Genuine interest in privacy-respecting products - you'll need to grow Kagi without the ad-tracking playbook most growth marketers default to
