Safety Assistant

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Safety Assistant with at least 2 years of experience in the trucking industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of DOT and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations, with a primary focus on overall safety compliance, risk prevention, and driver performance management.The Safety Assistant will support the Safety Department in maintaining regulatory compliance, reducing company liability, improving safety standards, and promoting a culture of accountability and accident prevention.Key Responsibilities:Ensure full compliance with FMCSA and DOT safety regulationsMaintain and audit Driver Qualification (DQ) files and compliance documentationManage accident reporting, investigations, and root cause analysisTrack and monitor driver safety performance, violations, and corrective actionsOversee safety training programs and driver onboarding processesDevelop and implement safety improvement initiativesPrepare documentation for audits, inspections, and internal reviewsMonitor CSA scores and assist in safety rating improvementsCoordinate drug & alcohol testing complianceReview insurance claims and assist in liability managementCommunicate and enforce company safety policies and proceduresQualifications:Minimum 2 years of trucking safety or compliance experienceStrong knowledge of FMCSA regulations and DOT requirementsExperience with safety audits, accident investigations, and compliance programsExcellent organizational and analytical skillsStrong communication and documentation abilitiesAbility to work under pressure and manage multiple prioritiesProactive mindset with strong attention to detailWe are looking for a safety-driven professional who prioritizes compliance, accident prevention, and continuous improvement in transportation operations.Originally posted on Himalayas
