Working independently, the Financial Counselor will explain financial information, determine insurance coverage, and educate the patients on their financial options.Some day-to-day responsibilities include:Furnishing patients and healthcare providers with estimates related to upcoming treatmentCollecting estimated liabilities from patients and applying payments to patient accountsAcquire knowledge of patient’s insurance coverage and benefit limits and communicate it to the patients to make them aware of their financial responsibilitiesCommunicate to internal staff in a clear and concise manner the financial status of the patient by analyzing and reviewing the patient’s accounts receivables and trying to resolve any issues related to itInitiating prior authorization requests per insurance carrier requirementsEnsure reimbursement is obtained for medical services provided for non-insured and under-insurance patientsIdentify and work to minimize potential financial risk of patient accounts through working daily time of service reportsAct as a resource representative when questions arise regarding registration errors, proper insurance documentation and accounting correctionEducation and SkillsA Bachelor’s degree2 + years of experience in fertility or healthcareProficient knowledge of medical terminology and billing practicesProficiency in MS Office requiredExperience with electronic medical recordsExceptional communication and organizational skillsAbility to simplify complex concepts to patientsFlexible availability which may include working some weekends and holidaysEmployment TypeThis is a full-time (40 hours a week/8 hours per day) non-exempt remote position working PST hours. CompensationThe base salary range for this role is $61,000 - $68,000 annually.
