We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who wants to help us build scalable, high-performance systems and shape the future of our backend architecture.

This role can be performed remotely or from our Malta office (hybrid model).

responsibilities

Your day-to-day will include:

• �� Designing and developing backend features on a highly scalable and resilient platform
• �� Contributing to the evolution of a modern microservices architecture
• �� Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code with a strong focus on performance and reliability
• �� Participating in architectural decisions and technology selection
• �� Working in a test-driven development environment
• �� Collaborating closely with developers, QA engineers, and product teams
• �� Performing code reviews and ensuring high engineering standards
• �� Analysing functional requirements and translating them into technical solutions
• �� Managing your own priorities, deadlines, and deliverables in a fast-paced environment
• �� Continuously improving systems through monitoring, optimisation, and best practices

qualifications

• �� 4+ years of experience as a backend software engineer, and master Python or Go as a programming language  
• �� You are familiar with DevOps practices and containerization technologies on cloud-based environments 
• �� You have experience in distributed systems and micro service architectures 
• �� You have a proventrack recordfrom working with heavy transactional systems  
• �� You care about software quality; you care about software engineering, and you want to make a difference 
• �� You have good attention to detail 
• �� You can work with minimal supervision 
• �� You have a good command of both verbal and written English 
• �� Having a degree in Information Technology or another related field would be considered an advantage
